Thomas Nicholson discussed Afghanistan with Indian officials

The EU Special Representative for Afghanistan has discussed the situation in Afghanistan with the officials of India during his three-day visit.
Thomas Nicholson, the European Union’s special representative for Afghanistan, wrote in a series of tweets that in his meeting with the Indian officials, he expressed concern about the dire humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and agreed with the officials of that country that more humanitarian aid is needed for the people of Afghanistan.
According to him, in these meetings, in order to consolidate peace and stability in Afghanistan, the creation of an inclusive government has been emphasized.
Mr. Nicholson added that during his meetings with Indian officials, many interlocutors and the media have expressed concern that militant groups in Afghanistan are becoming a growing threat to India’s security.
According to him, some of these media have suggested closer cooperation between Afghanistan’s neighbors to deal with this issue, and some of them have pointed to trust issues as an obstacle.
