Rina Amiri discussed the situation of Afghan women with Qatari officials

Rina Amiri, the US special representative for Afghan women’s affairs, met with Lulu Al-Khater, the assistant minister of foreign affairs of Qatar, and discussed the situation of women’s and girls’ rights in Afghanistan.
Ms. Amiri tweeted on Monday: “I had a great meeting with Lulu Al-Khater, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs to assess how efforts are being made to support Afghan women and girls.”
He also met with the education officials of a Qatari non-profit organization and discussed specific tools to expand educational opportunities and scholarships for Afghan women, girls and boys.
The US special representative for Afghan women’s affairs added: “Nothing gives me more hope than interacting with Afghans who develop educational and work opportunities for their countrymen and immigrant communities. “Many of these leaders lost everything overnight less than two years ago.”
It should be noted that the Taliban’s return to power led to the closure of girls’ schools and universities, and this group has also banned women from working in non-governmental organizations, which has led to the suspension of humanitarian activities in Afghanistan’s worst crisis.
