OCHA: To provide drinking water to 14 million people in Afghanistan, 479 million dollars are needed

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid says that more than 470 million dollars are needed to provide safe water to 14 million people in Afghanistan.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) tweeted that $479 million is needed to prevent disease and increase access to safe water for 14 million people in Afghanistan.
According to this international organization, last year’s drought in Afghanistan increased the number of families who have problems with access to drinking water by 7%.
According to an OCHA report, climate change and prolonged droughts across Afghanistan have left 79 percent of the country’s population without enough water for their daily needs, including drinking and cooking.
According to this report, in addition, low drinking water quality has been reported in 30 provinces of Afghanistan.
