More than 130 Afghan refugees were released from Pakistani prisons

The Embassy of Afghanistan in Pakistan says that more than 130 Afghan immigrants who were imprisoned in the city of Karachi have been released and returned to the country.

The Afghan Embassy in Pakistan wrote in a tweet that 137 Afghan refugees, including women and children, who were in the prisons of Karachi, were released and returned to Afghanistan.

It should be noted that since the end of last year, the arrest of Afghan citizens, including women and children, by the Pakistani police has increased, and so far several Afghan citizens have died in that country’s prisons.

Earlier, the Afghan consulate in Pakistan has also reported the death of four Afghan citizens in the prisons of the city of Pakistan.

Recently, Manijeh Kakar, a lawyer defending Afghan immigrants in Pakistan, also said in an interview with Deutsche Welle that an Afghan citizen named Faiz Mohammad died in “Malir” prison in Karachi due to illness and lack of access to health facilities.

He added: “He was infected with a infectious disease. “The lack of access to health services has caused prisoners to die as a result of common diseases.”

According to Mrs. Kakar, this is the fourth Afghan citizen who died due to lack of access to health facilities in Pakistan prison.
