More than 260 Afghan citizens were released from Iranian prisons

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban has announced the release of more than 260 Afghan citizens from Iranian prisons.

Hafiz Zia Ahmad, Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban wrote in a tweet that 268 Afghan citizens who were imprisoned in Iran were freed and handed over to the Afghan government as a result of negotiations and agreements between the two countries.

He added that a delegation from the Islamic Emirate had reached an agreement with the authorities of that country on the release of these Afghan citizens who were in Iranian prisons.

According to the Deputy Spokesperson of the Taliban’s Foreign Ministry, such positive actions will further deepen and strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
