Iran handed over more than 270 Afghan citizens to the Afghan government

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban has announced the release of more than 270 other Afghan citizens who were imprisoned in Iran.

Hafiz Zia Ahmad, Deputy Spokesman of the Taliban’s Foreign Ministry wrote in a tweet that 274 other Afghan citizens who were imprisoned in Iran have been handed over to the Afghan government by the government of that country.

He wrote that these Afghan citizens were transferred to Afghanistan through Islam Qala port in Herat province.

The spokesperson of the Taliban Foreign Ministry adds that the number of prisoners released in the last three days has reached 731 people and this process will continue.
