The World Food Program requested 800 million dollars to address the needs of the Afghan people

The World Food Program says it needs $800 million to address the immediate needs of people in Afghanistan over the next six months.

The World Food Program (WFP) said that 800 million dollars are needed in the next six months for this organization to address the urgent needs of the people of Afghanistan, and if this budget is not provided, poverty will increase throughout Afghanistan.

Emphasizing that the food reserves of this center have been exhausted ahead of time, this organization has warned that Afghanistan is currently at the highest risk of famine and providing food aid is the last way of salvation.

Previously, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Afghanistan (OCHA) has announced that the number of people in need of humanitarian aid in Afghanistan will reach more than 28 million in 2023.

Ocha wrote in a tweet that the number of people in need of humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan has increased from 6.3 million people in 2019 to 28.3 million people in 2023.

This institution added that about 6 million people are currently facing emergency levels of food insecurity in Afghanistan and are on the verge of famine.
