Two children were killed by a hand grenade explosion in Badakhshan

Local sources in Badakhshan say that two children died as a result of a hand grenade explosion in this province.
Sources say that this incident happened yesterday (Wednesday) in Tagab Kashm district of Badakhshan province.
At the same time, officials in the Department of Information and Culture of Badakhshan Province, confirming this incident, say that when children were carrying a piece of iron with a hand grenade attached to it, it led to an explosion.
According to them, this incident happened in a children’s gathering place and as a result two children died and 5 others were injured.
Previously, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has expressed concern over the increase in child casualties due to the explosion of unexploded ordnance left over from the war in Afghanistan.
This organization asked everyone in Afghanistan to adhere to their responsibilities and take up their efforts to clear mines and unexploded ordnance left over from the war, in order to prevent human casualties and also to ensure that children live in safe and secure environments.
