Khalilzad asked the Taliban to set an exact date for the reopening of educational institutions for girls

Zalmay Khalilzad, the former representative of the US in Afghanistan, asked the Taliban to set an exact date for the reopening of educational institutions for girls and women.

In a tweet, he called the Taliban’s ban on girls’ education a violation of girls’ Islamic rights and wrote that the Taliban should set a reliable date for reopening educational institutions for women and girls in the very near future.

He added that the Taliban should reflect on their treatment of Afghan women and girls and the consequences of their policy for their country.

It should be mentioned that with the beginning of the new academic year, the Taliban have allowed only girls below the sixth grade to go to school, but until now the gates of the schools for girls above the sixth grade and the gates of the universities are also closed to girls and women.
