The Taliban called UNAMA’s concern about the implementation of Sharia law in Afghanistan unfounded

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the caretaker government of the Taliban, called UNAMA’s claims and concerns about the functioning of the courts and the implementation of Sharia law in Afghanistan as baseless.

He wrote in a tweet that UNAMA’s recent claims and concerns about the functioning of the courts and the implementation of Sharia law in Afghanistan are baseless and that the judicial system in this country has been strengthened.

The Taliban spokesperson added that the judicial system in Afghanistan has been strengthened compared to the past and justice has been provided and citizenship rights have been given in the light of Islamic rules.

Mr. Mujahid called ignoring these developments and achievements unfair and said that this causes mistrust.

According to the spokesman of the caretaker government of the Taliban, a transparent judicial system has been established in Afghanistan and efforts are still being made to strengthen it.
