Roza Otenbayeva met with the Acting Minister of Interior Affairs of the Taliban

Roza Otunbayeva, head of UNAMA, met with Sirajuddin Haqqani, Acting Minister of Interior Affairs of the Islamic Emirate.

In a statement, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said that during this meeting, Sirajuddin Haqqani emphasized on ensuring security in Afghanistan and said that the representatives of the Islamic Emirate should be given the right to participate in the UN meetings regarding Afghanistan.

Roza Otunbayeva, head of UNAMA and special representative of the UN Secretary General for Afghanistan Affairs, said in this meeting that Afghanistan’s security has improved significantly.

He added that despite the problems, the United Nations has continued to help the people of Afghanistan in various fields.

At the end of this meeting, the Acting Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Taliban has appreciated the humanitarian assistance of the United Nations to the needy people of Afghanistan.
