The Chinese ambassador in Kabul met with the foreign minister of the Taliban

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban, says that Wang Yu, the Chinese ambassador in Kabul, met with Amir Khan Motaghi, the acting head of the ministry.
He wrote in a tweet that during the meeting, the Chinese ambassador announced the start of direct flights between his country and Afghanistan and said that China has maintained normal relations with Afghanistan and wants to strengthen them further.
The Chinese ambassador added that on May 24th, direct flights between Afghanistan and China will start, the initial work of the Aynak copper mine project will be accelerated, Afghanistan’s exports to China, especially pomegranates, will increase.
In the continuation of this meeting, the foreign minister of the Taliban welcomed China’s cooperation with Afghanistan, called the start of flights between the two countries as a good opportunity to further strengthen relations and called for more facilities in issuing visas to Afghans.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other bilateral issues were also discussed in the meeting.
