World Hepatitis Day was celebrated in the Ministry of Public Health

The Ministry of Public Health celebrated the World Hepatitis Day in a meeting.

Maulvi Habibullah Akhundzadeh Hamed, Deputy Minister of Health Services Supply of the Ministry of Public Health, said in this meeting: “Unsafe blood transfusion, use of sterile needles, crisis in the country, weak economy and immigration are important factors of hepatitis disease in people.”

He added that the Ministry of Public Health, in cooperation with its health partners, has been able to provide treatment and prevention for hepatitis patients in the country, and efforts are underway in this direction.

Dr. Reza Al Wadel spoke on behalf of the World Health Organization in this meeting and said that the World Health Organization is committed to continue its assistance with the Ministry of Public Health for the treatment and prevention of the spread of hepatitis in Afghanistan.

Hepatitis is a type of viral disease that mostly affects the human liver and has different types.
