The death toll from yesterday’s earthquake in Herat has reached 100

The big earthquake that shook Herat and Badghis provinces yesterday has left more than 100 dead and more than hundreds injured.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Afghanistan (OCHA) wrote in a report that this earthquake left 100 people dead in eight villages of Zindajan district of Herat province.
According to Ocha’s report, the magnitude of this earthquake was 6.3 on the Richter scale and it occurred 40 kilometers west of Herat city, and its aftershocks were also felt in Badghis and Farah provinces.
Ocha added that as a result of this earthquake, more than 500 people have been injured and 456 residential houses have been destroyed and 135 houses have been damaged.
However, the exact number of casualties in this event is not known yet, and officials say that there is a possibility that the number will increase.
