Afghanistan increases the import of electricity from Turkmenistan

Afghanistan signed six important energy projects with a total value of 75 million dollars in order to increase the import of electricity from Turkmenistan.
Officials of the Ministry of Energy and Water of Afghanistan have announced that these projects have been contracted with the local mining processing company “Aufi Bahram”.
According to the officials of this ministry, the implementation of these projects will provide the possibility of importing 1,000 megawatts of electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, which will eventually solve the problem of electricity shortage in Kabul as well as the central, eastern and southern provinces.
