Thomas West called the attack on the Shiite mosque in Baghlan violent

Thomas West, the US special representative for Afghanistan affairs, called Friday’s explosion in the Imam Zaman mosque in Pul Khumri city, the capital of Baghlan province, violent.

He wrote on the X social page that he is deeply sorry for the terrorist attack last Friday in Pul Khumri, in which a large number of Shia worshipers were killed and wounded.

The US representative in Afghanistan added that the Afghan Shia community has suffered a lot from violent extremism.

According to Mustafa Hashemi, the head of information and culture of Baghlan, 7 people were killed and 17 others were injured as a result of a suicide attack on Friday at Imam Zaman Mosque in Pul Khumri.
