Mullah Baradar met with the head of Iran’s National Security Council

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the economic deputy of the Taliban prime minister, met with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the head of the National Security Council of Iran, in Tehran.

The deputy economic office of the Taliban prime minister wrote on page X that in this meeting, in addition to political and economic relations, the parties discussed better coordination on the border between the two countries, water management, transit and increasing Afghanistan’s exports and imports through Iran.

In this meeting, Abdul Ghani Baradar stressed that Iran and Afghanistan have become two common economic partners and can say that in order to achieve this goal, bilateral cooperation should be increased and the technical teams of the two countries should work together.

In the continuation of this meeting, the head of the National Security Council of Iran emphasized the increase of joint cooperation in various fields between the two countries and assured about solving the problems of Afghan immigrants living in Iran and good relations with them.

He added: “Iran and Afghanistan play an important role in China’s One Belt and One Road project, which connects China to Iran, Iraq, Syria, the Mediterranean Sea, and Europe through Afghanistan.”

At the end of this meeting, it was emphasized on the proper use of the opportunities between the two countries.
