Rina Amiri: Discrimination against women and girls in Afghanistan is a violation of human rights

Rina Amiri, the US special representative for Afghan women’s affairs, says that discrimination against women and girls in Afghanistan is one of the most heinous cases of human rights violations.

He wrote on Page X that the Taliban’s discriminatory laws targeting women and girls are some of the most heinous human rights violations in the world.

Mrs. Amiri pointed out the sanctioning of two Taliban officials by the US Treasury Department and added that those involved in suppressing Afghan women and girls should continue to be held accountable.

It should be noted that recently the US Treasury Ministry has sanctioned Mohammad Khaled Hanafi, Acting Minister of Enjoining Good and Prohibiting Evil, and Fariduddin Mahmoud, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Islamic Emirate, for violating human rights related to the education of women and girls.
