Save the Children: Nearly 8 million children in Afghanistan are suffering from hunger crisis
Save the Children has announced that nearly 8 million children in Afghanistan will face hunger crisis this year.
The organization said in a statement that based on the new figures of the World Hunger Monitoring System, it is estimated that 15.8 million people, which constitute more than a third of Afghanistan’s population, will face acute food insecurity before March 2024.
According to the Save the Children, approximately 7.8 million of these people are children.
This organization also said that around 460,000 Afghan immigrants have returned to Afghanistan from Pakistan and 345,000 others from Iran, and this situation has worsened in this country.
