Richard Bennett called for the release of women detained by the Taliban

Richard Bennett, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights for Afghanistan, has called for the release of the girls who were recently arrested by the Taliban.

He wrote on page X: “Recent arrests of women in Kabul due to “bad hijab” approved by the Taliban, unfortunately indicate more restrictions on women’s freedom of expression and weakening of other rights.”

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights for Afghanistan has called for the release of all women who have been detained by the Taliban.

It should be mentioned that recently the Ministry of Public Affairs of the Taliban has confirmed that a number of women in Kabul have been arrested by the officials of this ministry for wearing the hijab.
