In a meeting with professors at private universities and educational institutions, former President Hamid Karzai called the reopening of schools and universities to girls a vital issue.

Mr. Karzai’s office wrote that at the meeting, professors from private institutions discussed the challenges of these institutions and called for “attention of relevant domestic and international authorities,” especially the upcoming Doha meeting to improve the situation.
