Two Afghans arrive in Kabul after release from Guantanamo
Two Guantanamo detainees and members of the Taliban returned to Kabul on Monday (Monday, February 12) after the end of the siege in Oman.
Taliban members have gone to Kabul airport to greet the two men.
Mullah Abdul Zaher Saber, a resident of Logar province, and Abdul Karim, a resident of Khost Province, who were both transferred to Guantanamo Bay in 2002 and 2003 and were monitored in Oman, arrived in Kabul today as a result of the efforts of the Islamic Emirate.
Mullah Abdul Zaher Saber was reportedly transferred to the prison by U.S. forces and Abdul Karim by the Pakistani government after being captured.
