Afghan journalist Kobra Hasani and her colleague were sentenced to two years in prison by the St. Petersburg City Court for illegally crossing the Russian border into Europe.
Local newspaper Fontanka reported on Tuesday night that the verdict was issued on Hosni for attempting to illegally leave Russia for the European Union.
According to the sources, the Afghan journalist, who fled to Russia after the Islamic Emirate regained control of Afghanistan, spent two years in detention with his colleague and will not be jailed again according to a court order.
