Mudslides in Nuristan province

Local Taliban officials in Nuristan say landslides in Nurgram district of the province have destroyed residential homes and killed people.

Sami-ul-Haq Haqbayan, the Taliban’s head of information and culture, said the incident happened at midnight last night in the Titin Valley area.

He said at least 25 houses were destroyed in the incident.

Haqbayan added that so far 10 bodies have been recovered from the rubble and there is a possibility of an increase in the number of victims because they may be under the rubble.
