China Envoy: We and Turkmenistan will step up efforts in Afghanistan reconstruction

China’s special representative for Afghanistan Yue Xiaoyong, met with Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmad Kakabayovich Kurbanov on Friday during his visit to Turkmenistan.

Mr. Yu wrote on his X-page that during the meeting, the two sides emphasized their joint efforts to help Afghanistan in the reconstruction sector.

“China clearly supports the Turkmen’s fifth foreign ministerial meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbouring countries in 2024,” he added.

The last meeting of foreign ministers from Afghanistan’s neighbouring countries was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, in April 2023.
