UNAMA’s mission extended for another year
The United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution unanimously extending the UNAMA’s mission to Afghanistan for another year.
The Security Council meeting on the UNAMA mission was held Friday night (March 16).
At the, the members of the Security Council, ratifying Resolution 2727 (2024), unanimously emphasized the importance of continuing the presence of UNAMA and other United Nations agencies, funds and programs in Afghanistan.
Under this decision, the mission of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) was extended to 17 March 2025.
