Türkiye’s assistance in evacuating hundreds of foreign nationals from Lebanon

Since October 16, Türkiye has helped airlift 2,120 foreign nationals from 21 different countries from Lebanon, which is under Israeli attacks, to reach their destination countries through Turkey.

According to Turkish Foreign Ministry sources, Ankara has ordered the evacuation of citizens of Canada, America, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Argentina, Lebanon, Palestine, Philippines, England, South Korea, Indonesia, Ireland, Spain, Serbia, Russia, France, Finland. , Sweden and Uzbekistan has helped their country.

Türkiye also evacuated 966 people by sea from Lebanon, of which 878 were Turkish citizens and 24 were citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The Israeli army attacked southern Lebanon against Hezbollah on October 8, 2023. On September 23, Israel launched hundreds of airstrikes on southern Lebanese cities, as well as the Bekaa and Baalbek regions.

It should be noted that, according to the data of the Lebanese Ministry of Health, a total of 2,350 people, including 104 children and 194 women, have died and 10,906 people have been injured in Israeli attacks since October 8, 2023.
