Afghanistan exported more than two thousand tons of pine nuts last year

The Ministry of Industry and Trade says that last year, more than 2,500 tons of pine nuts worth 27 million dollars were exported to neighboring countries. Afghan pine is mostly exported to China, India, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates.

Abdulsalam Javad Akhundzadeh, the spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, says: “The total weight of black pine nuts during 1402 was 2523 tons and the value was 27 million dollars, mostly to China, India, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, America, “England, Australia, Holland and other countries have taken place.”

Officials in the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock say that since last year, pine nut production has increased in the country and they have also expanded artificial forests to obtain more pine nuts.

Misbahuddin Mustain, the spokesperson of the Ministries of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, says: “In order to revive Jalghuzeh forests, according to the last year’s development budget, artificial forests of Jalghuzeh have been created on approximately 1,500 hectares of land. There used to be pine trees in these lands, but they were cut down or destroyed in a fire.

Mirvis Hajizadeh, the deputy of the Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock, says: “Currently, if it is exported through land transportation and through the railway, its cost may not exceed 5 or 6 thousand dollars. This is a good opportunity for the businessman. Pine nuts are produced more in Afghanistan and the world is in demand. As much as we have commercial relations with the world, especially in the agriculture sector, the country’s income will increase and there will be more good opportunities for farmers.”

Whenever the country’s pine nut is exported by air, it will reach the world markets as soon as possible, and because of this, Afghan businessmen will earn millions of dollars
