Abbas Stanikzai: Peaceful Afghanistan Benefits Region and World

Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that peace in Afghanistan is in the interest of both regional countries and the world.

During a program in Kabul, Stanikzai urged the international community and global organizations to cooperate comprehensively with the caretaker government based on the Doha Agreement.

The Deputy Minister said: “The current situation in Afghanistan requires them to approach it positively and play a constructive role, as a stable, resilient, and peaceful Afghanistan is in their interest as well as ours.”

In his remarks, Stanikzai emphasized that the Islamic Emirate has adopted an economy-focused policy in its dealings with other countries.

He called on countries to assist Afghanistan in various fields, including politics, economy, and agriculture: “At this critical stage, they must work for Afghanistan’s progress and development, particularly in areas such as technology, economy, and agriculture, and fulfill their moral and agreed-upon resposnsibilities. Our request to those countries  that bombed and destroyed Afghanistan over the past 20 years is that it is their ethical duty, as well as their obligation under the Doha Agreement, to come forward and cooperate with Afghanistan in all areas, including politics, economy, agriculture, and healthcare, so that we can stand on our own feet.”

He also appealed to Afghan citizens living abroad to return to the country and contribute to its reconstruction.
The Deputy Minister said: “To all Afghans living outside the country who are professionals—doctors, engineers, or agricultural experts—I urge you to return to your homeland and work here, as the country needs you.”

Stanikzai further stressed the importance of advancing education in the country and called on neighboring countries to play a significant role in rebuilding Afghanistan.
