Uzbek Ambassador Presents His Credentials to Acting Foreign Minister
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate announced yesterday (Wednesday, November 20) that the newly appointed ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kabul, Oybek Usmanov, has presented a copy of his credentials to Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting foreign minister.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, the deputy spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Oybek Usmanov, during his meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, pledged his efforts to further expand relations between Kabul and Tashkent.
At the same time, the acting foreign minister described the operation of the embassies of the two countries as a positive sign of progress in bilateral relations and stressed the implementation of major economic projects between the two nations.
The deputy spokesperson added: “The foreign minister considered the active embassies of the two countries in each other’s capitals as a good sign of progress in bilateral relations and emphasized that practical steps should be taken in the field of major economic projects between the two countries.”
“Both at the international table and in Afghanistan’s neighborhood, Uzbekistan is a country we can rely on. Uzbekistan has always maintained good relations and neighborly ties with Afghanistan,” said Janat Faheem Chakari, a political analyst.
“Accepting the credentials of the Uzbek ambassador as a neighboring country and as a neutral entity in Afghanistan’s affairs is a significant achievement. It will encourage other countries, especially neighboring ones, to establish relations as well,” said Aziz Maarij, a former diplomat.
Oybek Usmanov was introduced and arrived in Kabul as the new ambassador of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan on the 7th of Aqrab this solar year.
