NSIA: Over 2,000 Entries, Exits of Foreigners in Past Solar Month
The National Statistics and Information Authority announced in a statement that over 2,000 foreign nationals entered and exited Afghanistan during the month of Aqrab (October 22 – November 20).
According to the authority, 224 of these individuals visited the country to explore historical and archaeological sites, while the remaining arrivals were for work-related purposes.
The statement reads: “The National Statistics and Information Authority recorded the entry and exit of 2,350 foreign nationals through the country’s border crossings and airports over the past (solar) month.”
The authority noted that among the foreign nationals entering Afghanistan, 50 were women, while 23 of the departing individuals were also women.
The recorded figures indicate that 1,238 individuals entered the country via land crossings, while 48 others arrived through airports.
According to the recorded data, the majority of foreign arrivals occurred through the border crossings of Nimroz, Torkham, and Hairatan, as well as the airfields of Balkh.
Despite recent political and economic developments, Afghanistan continues to attract some foreign nationals.
The arrival of these individuals is attributed to various reasons, including visits to historical sites, undertaking work projects, and even research trips.
Afghanistan boasts a rich historical and archaeological heritage, with destinations such as Bamiyan, Ghazni, Herat, and Kabul remaining attractions for foreign tourists.
