Ministry Urges Afghan Refugees to Not Interfere in Pakistan’s Affairs
The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has urged Afghan refugees in Pakistan not to interfere in the country’s internal affairs.
Abdul Mutalib Haqqani, the ministry’s spokesperson, stated that Afghan citizens living in other countries must respect the laws of those nations.
The spokesperson said: “They should not interfere in the internal affairs of host countries, and all Afghans, wherever they live, must abide by the laws and principles of their host countries and view them with respect.”
Haqqani cited the insecurity of the past 40 years as the primary reason for Afghan migration and emphasized that Afghan refugees do not seek to create insecurity in Pakistan.
Abdul Mutalib Haqqani further explained: “Refugees left Afghanistan because of insecurity, and they do not want to get involved in the insecurity of other countries or make their lives worse.”
Meanwhile, some Afghan refugees in Pakistan have reported an increase in arrests of migrants over the past few days.
Abdullah Mohammadi, a representative of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, said: “Police arrests, house-to-house searches, and document inspections have started in areas where refugees reside.”
This comes after Pakistani media previously reported the arrest of several Afghan citizens for participating in anti-government protests organized by supporters of Imran Khan.
