Delawar in China Highlights Afghanistan’s Humanitarian Needs

Shahabuddin Delawar, acting Director of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, shared information with participants at a seminar in China about Afghanistan’s humanitarian needs, the activities of the Afghan Red Crescent, and the organization’s future programs.

The Afghan Red Crescent Society stated that the seminar was organized in China by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and the national societies of 11 countries.

According to the Afghan Red Crescent, the seminar aimed to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian aid, introduce modern leadership and management concepts, and explore new methods for delivering humanitarian services.

“At this seminar, discussions were held about Afghanistan’s humanitarian situation, cooperation on humanitarian aid, the activities of the Red Crescent, and the organization’s winter needs,” said Mudassir Hamraz, the spokesperson for the Afghan Red Crescent Society.

Some economic experts, considering Afghanistan’s extensive needs, deemed such trips effective and emphasized the necessity of systematic planning to attract humanitarian assistance.

“A specific program must be developed to attract aid. The government should appoint specific individuals to liaise with these organizations and establish systematic strategies,” said Mohammad Nabi Afghan, an economic analyst.

“These initiatives are very beneficial. Afghanistan needs sustained assistance until we can finance our budget from domestic sources,” said Ismail Zadran, another economic expert.

The Afghan Red Crescent Society, as a humanitarian charity organization, works to provide services to victims of natural disasters and treat those in need across Afghanistan, playing a crucial role in mitigating humanitarian crises.
