The Gulf Cooperation Council called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) yesterday, at its 45th summit held in Kuwait, called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza so that humanitarian aid can reach the residents of this region. This is the first time since 2017 that Kuwait is hosting the GCC Summit.
In this meeting, strengthening economic integration in the Persian Gulf and maintaining international and regional security and stability were the main topics discussed. In addition, important issues such as the challenges of the global economy and the complex situation of international issues were among the other axes of this meeting.
In his speech, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, condemned the occupation of Palestinian lands and the genocide of Palestinians by Israel. He asked the international community to play an effective role in implementing the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is a regional intergovernmental political and economic union consisting of the countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The head office of this council is located in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, and it was established on May 25, 1981 with the signing of an official charter.
