Kabul Disappointed With Norway’s Reduction of Diplomatic Relations
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate has expressed dissatisfaction with Norway’s decision to reduce diplomatic relations with the caretaker government.
The ministry stated that such decisions should not be linked to the internal affairs of sovereign countries.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that access to consular services is a basic right for every individual, and countries should prioritize this principle in the spirit of international cooperation.
The deputy spokesperson further said: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan expresses its dissatisfaction with the decision of the Norwegian government to reduce its diplomatic presence. We hope that such decisions will not interfere with the internal affairs of countries.”
Earlier, Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, due to restrictions on girls’ education in Afghanistan, it would reduce its diplomatic relations with the caretaker government and would no longer accept the Islamic Emirate’s representative.
Bilal Omar, a political analyst, stated: “In order to improve our relations and build strong ties with various countries, it is critically important to respect human rights. More efforts should be made to ensure the preservation and stability of human rights.”
It is worth noting that the Afghan Embassy in Oslo, Norway’s capital, was closed on September 12 of this year.
