Anas Haqqani: Daesh Has No Roots Among Govt or People
Anas Haqqani, a senior member of the Islamic Emirate, rejected claims that individuals within the Islamic Emirate were involved in the attack on Khalil Rahman Haqqani, the acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation, during an interview with Al Arabiya.
In part of the interview, Anas Haqqani stated that Daesh has no roots among the members of the interim government or the citizens of the country.
He said: “As I mentioned earlier, Daesh has no roots among the government or the people. It is impossible for Daesh to take hold within the government. This government is composed of individuals who have fought jihad, have awareness and intellect. Daesh is a cursed phenomenon.”
In his remarks, Anas Haqqani emphasized that Daesh has no justification for its activities in the country. He said that ongoing economic projects and engagement with the international community are developments that concern Daesh and those opposed to stability in Afghanistan.
He further stated: “Daesh has no justification for its actions. Economic projects are underway, and global engagement has begun. These developments are concerning for Daesh and those who do not want stability in Afghanistan.”
Sayed Jawad Hosseini, a political analyst, told regarding the intentions of neighboring countries toward Afghanistan: “Neighboring countries and regional states do not want a powerful, stable, and progressing government to emerge in Afghanistan.”
This comes as Daesh has claimed responsibility for the attack on Khalil Rahman Haqqani, the acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation.
