Retirees Await Implementation of the Islamic Emirate Leader’s Order

A number of retirees have expressed satisfaction with the Islamic Emirate leader’s order regarding the procedure for paying retirees’ salaries.

Some of them state that all their records are available with the relevant authorities and their payments should be made without the need to approach the courts.

Habibullah, one of the retirees, said: “We are very happy and hope this issue will be resolved. What is being said to us relates to the court, and we know that all of us have been biometrically registered.”

Abdul Shakoor, a legal expert, stated: “The court can ensure transparency. Transparency is a very good thing; however, if this process is prolonged or leads to non-payment of salaries, it will not be favorable.”

Several other retirees also visited the Directorate of Retirement Fund (Sunday) and expressed their challenges as follows:

Hafizullah, one of the retirees, said: “We don’t have firewood; winter has arrived. We don’t have coal, not even clothes to wear. Winter has come. Therefore, our salaries should be paid as soon as possible.”

Abdul Hadi, another retiree, said: “To stay warm, I heat barrels of water and put them under blankets. Look how painful this situation is. I have nothing at home. My only hope was these retirement payments.”

Meanwhile, (Saturday), the leader of the Islamic Emirate issued an order regarding the procedure for paying retirees’ salaries.

In this order, the leader of the Islamic Emirate instructed the Supreme Court to hold special courts based on Sharia law to find a solution for paying retirees’ salaries.
