Economic Corridor Cooperation Agreement between Four Countries Extended
The Economic Corridor Cooperation Agreement between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China has been extended in Uzbekistan for 2025.
Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works, said in a press release that the corridor, which passes through China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and connects to the Hairatan-Mazar-e-Sharif railway, was formed by the four countries in 2022. With the extension of this agreement, it is expected that the amount of rail transport on this route will increase.
According to the press release, in 2024, 4,200 containers were transported through the Afghanistan-China rail corridor.
