US Senate fails to sanction Hague Tribunal

The bill to sanction Hague Tribunal failed after Democrats and independents in the US Senate opposed it.

Democrats who voted against the bill do not oppose the sanctions, but they say the Republican bill would even cover the Hague Tribunal’s staff.

According to opponents, the Republican bill is so broad that it would also sanction American employees and companies that cooperate with the Hague Tribunal.

Following the Hague Tribunal’s verdict against Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes in Gaza, the US House of Representatives and Senate are seeking to sanction the Hague Tribunal.
