Protesters in Chaman Demand Visa-Free Travel

Widespread protests have erupted in Chaman, led by members of the Chaman Protest Movement and Pakistani nationalist parties.
The protesters state that their demands include visa-free travel at the Chaman-Spin Boldak crossing, the removal of barbed wire along the Durand Line, and an end to the economic blockade of Chaman by the Pakistani government.
Sadiq Khan Achakzai, spokesperson for the Chaman Protest Movement, said: “These Jirgas are the legacy of our ancestors. This route is our route, and the decision made by the army chief is wrong. Why should only those approved by tribal elders be allowed to travel while others are denied? What kind of decision-making and justice is this?”
Members of this movement emphasize that to achieve their goals, they will expand their protests to Balochistan and other areas.
Mohammad Wali, a member of the Chaman Protest Movement, said: “We do not fear prison or death. We will fight for the rights of these poor and disadvantaged people, and we are ready to make any sacrifice so that national identity cards and identification documents are recognized for cross-border travel.”
Wali Mohammad, another member of the movement, stated: “Every family in Chaman has suffered losses of two to three million rupees. Our brides have been disrespected at the Chaman-Spin Boldak crossing. This is a matter of dignity, and we will surely take revenge for this humiliation.”
The protesters have warned that if their demands are ignored, they will take more serious measures.
So far, the Pakistani government has not responded to these new protests or the demands of the demonstrators in Chaman.
