Pompeo: Withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan was Trump’s demand

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has claimed that the peace agreement with the Islamic Emirate in Doha was reached at the request of US President Donald Trump.

US media reported, quoting Mr. Pompeo, that Trump had requested this agreement to pave the way for the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan.

The former US Secretary of State made these statements while Donald Trump has repeatedly blamed the Joe Biden administration for the manner of withdrawal from Afghanistan over the past three years.
