Russia releases American citizen

Russia has released an American citizen, Mark Fogel, after US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian officials in Moscow.
The Associated Press reported that Steve Witkoff had just left Russian airspace with Fogel, a history teacher who was detained in August 2021.
Trump’s national security adviser, Mike Waltz, said Russia and the US had negotiated a “swap” to secure Fogel’s release.
He declined to comment on what the US had offered in return for the deal.
