Five Iraqi banks banned from dealing in dollars

Reuters reported that the US Treasury Department, through the Central Bank of Iraq, has banned five other banks in the country from dealing in dollars.

According to the report, the US Treasury Department took this action to prevent money laundering, dollar smuggling and other violations.

These restrictions come at a time when US President Donald Trump’s administration has suspended all foreign aid after taking office.
