Revenue of Nangarhar Govt Company Increases

The Nangarhar Government Company has reported collecting 270 million afghani in revenue during the current solar year.

According to officials, around 43,000 jeribs of canal land in the province has been seized over the past few decades, of which nearly 2,000 jeribs have been reclaimed.

“There is one month left until the end of the year, and we hope to further increase our revenue during this period. We predict that our income will rise by another 25 to 30 million afghani, bringing the total revenue to approximately 300 million afghani by the end of the year 1403(solar year),” stated Nadiullah Niazi, the head of marketing for the Nangarhar Government Agricultural and Trading Company.

Meanwhile, several residents of Nangarhar have called on officials to establish gardens on the barren canal lands of the province.

“The lands belonging to the canal should be leased so that orange, citrus, and date orchards can be planted, providing job opportunities for the people,” stated Baryali, a resident of Nangarhar.

“All the canal lands that were illegally seized should be reclaimed by the government and turned into orchards. This will create employment opportunities for the youth and reduce dependence on imported fruits,” said Esmat, a resident.

According to information from the Nangarhar Government Company, it has signed contracts with private agricultural companies to establish 22,000 jeribs of orange orchards, which will help meet the domestic demand for citrus products.
