US-Canada trade war intensifies / Trump threatens Canada with more tariffs

US President Donald Trump announced that he has ordered the country’s Commerce Secretary to increase the customs tariff imposed on Canada by another 25%.

Trump warned that if Canada does not lift the customs tariffs imposed on the US, he will increase the customs tariff on imported cars starting next month.

The customs tariff on steel and aluminum imports from Canada will increase to 50% starting today (Wednesday, March 12) and Canada must quickly lift the customs tariffs imposed on the US.
