Tammy Bruce: ‘There Is No List’ Blocking Afghan Allies’ Resettlement

The US Department of State recently announced that there is no list prohibiting the transfer of Afghan allies who worked with American forces to the United States.
According to Tammy Bruce, the spokesperson for the US State Department, the process of resettling Afghans in the United States is ongoing and remains part of Washington’s policies.
The spokesperson added that security screening procedures continue in accordance with an executive order issued by former President Trump to ensure US security.
Tammy Bruce stated: “First of all, there is no list. What people are looking at over these last several days is not a list that exists here that is being acted on. There is a review, as we know, through the President’s executive order, for us to look at the nature of what’s going to help keep America safer in dealing with the issue of visas and who’s allowed into the country. But what has been touted as something that is an item through the State Department just simply isn’t the case.”
These remarks from the State Department’s spokesperson come as Donald Trump signed an executive order suspending the US immigration program for four months, more than a month ago.
Migrant rights activists say the United States must fulfill its commitments in this regard.
“The commitments that were anticipated must be implemented, and cooperation should be extended to these individuals who have been legally accepted into this country,” Mohammad Khan Mohammadi, a migrant rights activist, told
“The US government needs to pay special attention to these individuals and not abandon them, so they do not face more severe difficulties,” said Ehsanullah Khan Ahmadzai, another activist in this field.
Previously, Reuters had reported, citing informed sources, that the Trump administration was considering imposing extensive travel restrictions on citizens from 41 countries, including Afghanistan. These restrictions would apply to tourist visas, student visas, and some immigrant visas.
