Afghanistan’s exports to Uzbekistan have tripled compared to last year

Bakhtiar Saidov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, says that Afghanistan’s exports to Uzbekistan have tripled compared to last year during the first four months of 2025.
In a phone call with Amir Khan Mottaki, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, he said that more facilities will be created in the field of creating trade and transit facilities between the two countries, especially issuing visas for Afghan citizens.
On the other hand, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that Afghanistan is fully prepared to implement major economic projects such as the Trans-Afghan project and further strengthen political, trade and transit cooperation with Uzbekistan, and that the emerging regional opportunities should be used in the interests of the two countries.
The two sides also discussed holding a trilateral meeting between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan at the level of foreign ministers and agreed to coordinate through diplomatic channels to determine the exact date and venue of this meeting.
