Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi: The Islamic Emirate has a strong will to make the country stand on its own feet

Tom Fletcher, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Director-General of OCHA, met with Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Muttaqi said in the meeting that currently, aid to Afghans should continue considering the needs and priorities of the Afghan people.

The Foreign Minister added that the Islamic Emirate has a strong will to make the country stand on its own feet in various fields and free the people from the need for humanitarian aid.

Meanwhile, Tom Fletcher said that the nature of aid should change from humanitarian aid to development projects and the priorities of the Afghan people should be taken into account.
