Islamabad Chamber of Commerce President Calls for Trade Relations with Afghanistan, Iran

The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce President has called for trade relations with Afghanistan and Iran, saying that Pakistan should seek trade opportunities in Afghanistan and Iran.
Naseer Mansoor Qureshi, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries, on Monday, April 28, stressed the need for Pakistan to expand its presence in regional markets, especially in neighboring countries including Afghanistan and Iran.
He said that strengthening regional trade relations is vital to ensuring Pakistan’s sustainable economic progress and prosperity, given the global challenges ahead.
Mr. Qureshi added in a statement that Pakistan’s current economic success largely depends on remittances sent by Pakistanis living abroad, especially in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the United States.
He warned that geopolitical tensions could threaten the flow of remittances and foreign direct investment into the country.
