Trump confirms rare earth minerals deal with Ukraine signed

Donald Trump spoke publicly for the first time on Wednesday evening (April 31) about the long-stalled minerals agreement between Ukraine and the United States.

“We made a deal today where in theory we’re getting a lot more than $350 billion, but I wanted to get a guarantee, I didn’t want to look stupid,” Trump said.

The US president has repeatedly claimed that the country has provided Kiev with $350 billion in aid during the Russia-Ukraine war.
